Privacy Policy.
What we collect when you visit louislynnco.com, why we collect it, who else touches it, and how to make us delete it. Written in plain English so you can check it.
At louislynn Consulting ("we," "our," or "us"), your privacy matters. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit louislynnco.com (the "Site").
1. Information we collect
We collect limited personal information to deliver services, respond to inquiries, and improve your experience.
Information you give us. Your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in the message field when you submit a form or email us directly.
Usage data. Pages visited, time on site, referring source, approximate location, device and browser type. This is collected through cookies and Google Analytics 4.
Business identification data. We use a third-party service that attempts to identify the company, and in some cases the individual, behind an anonymous visit from a business network. This happens without you filling in a form. It draws on commercially available business contact databases, and we use it to understand which organizations are researching our services. If you would rather not be identified this way, email us and we will suppress your record. Details in section 4.
Email engagement data. If you opt into our mailing list, we can see opens and clicks.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
2. How we use your information
- Respond to your inquiries and contact requests
- Send updates, newsletters, or marketing messages, only if you opted in
- Understand website traffic and improve the Site
- Identify organizations that may be a fit for our services, and prioritize outreach
- Maintain security and monitor abuse
We do not sell or rent your personal information for money, and we do not use it for advertising. We want to be precise rather than reassuring here, because the business identification described above works by resolving an anonymous visit against commercially licensed contact databases. We do not consider that a sale or a share, and we do not pass what we learn to anyone else. But the definitions of “sale” and “share” under California law are broad enough that reasonable lawyers disagree about this category of tool, so we would rather describe exactly what happens than give you a one-word denial. If you would prefer not to be identified at all, section 4 tells you how to opt out and section 3 covers the browser signal we honour automatically.
3. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to measure traffic and understand which content performs. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The Site works without them, though our analytics will not see you, which is fine by us.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension broadcasts the Global Privacy Control signal, we detect it before any tracking script loads and we do not load them at all. Not blocked after the fact, not loaded and told to stay quiet. Analytics and the business identification service both stay off for that visit, on every page, with nothing for you to click. We honour it for every visitor regardless of what state you are in, because deciding who is legally entitled to privacy is more work than simply giving it to everyone. We treat a Do Not Track header the same way.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make the Site and our business run. Each is bound by its own privacy obligations.
- Netlify hosts the Site and processes form submissions
- Google provides Analytics, Search Console, and our business email through Google Workspace
- RB2B provides the business visitor identification described in section 1
- HubSpot stores contact records and inquiry history
- Legal authorities, where we are required to comply with applicable law
That list is current as of the effective date above. If we add a provider that handles personal information, we update this page.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, or as long as the law requires. Inquiry records are kept while there is an active or plausible business relationship. Ask us to delete yours and we will.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you
- Correct it, or delete it
- Stop identifying you through the business visitor service in section 1
- Unsubscribe from marketing at any time, using the link in any email
To make a request, email hi@louislynnco.com. We answer within 30 days and we do not require you to justify the request.
California residents. Under the CCPA and CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information for money, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we run no advertising pixels. Section 2 describes the one practice where the statutory definitions are open to argument, and we would rather you read that than take a blanket denial from us. We also honour Global Privacy Control as an opt-out preference signal, which section 3 describes. Use the same email address above.
7. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted connections across the whole Site and access controls on the systems that hold inquiry records. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects your data, we will tell you.
8. Children
The Site is for business audiences and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our practices change. Changes are posted here with a new effective date at the top. Material changes get a note in the footer of the Site for 30 days.
